KATC’s Senior Spotlight: Eunice’s Brodi Walker

Posted

EUNICE (KATC) — Brodi Walker is more valuable than any stat line will tell you.

The Senior linebacker led the Eunice in tackles as the Bobcats won it’s first state football championship since 1983. But his value went beyond the boxscore.

“Brodi was one of our senior leaders, and there were a number of them, and he was one. They refused to lose,” said head coach Paul Trosclair.

In July we first met Walker during our KATC Friday Night Football Media Days tour, he said the team wanted to play in the dome but would take it one game at a time. Months later he admitted winning a title was more than he thought.

“I was thinking district champs but nobody was counting us in,” said Walker. “4-and-7 season they said. I knew we’d have a good season, a winning record, but I wasn’t thinking dome.”

On the back of Eunice’s gym is a mural celebrating the 1982 championship team, Walker said the team rallied behind it, saying the team wanted them to paint a new one beside it.
