EUNICE, La (KATC) – The 4-0 Eunice High School Bobcats are off to their best start to a football season since 2012. Helping the team get off to its stellar start is senior tight end Tyler Darbone.
Darbonne is a two-time second team all-district football player for Eunice where he’s started for the Bobcats since his sophomore season.
A 4.3 GPA and student council member, Darbonne also plays baseball for the Bobcats and is described by his coaches as a quiet leader.
This season, Tyler’s younger brother Dylan has joined the varsity squad as its starting center. It’s the first time in head coach Paul Trosclair’s 23 years as Eunice’s head coach that a freshman has started on offensive line.
The two brothers share the typical bond you would expect teenage boys who excel at sports to have. But for this season, at least, that bond is made even stronger because of the opportunity to be teammates as well as family.
