Notre Dame 42, Catholic N.I. 21 – Division III
NEW ORLEANS (KATC) — Notre Dame avenges its 2017 loss to Catholic in the dome Thursday, beating the Panthers 42-21 to win the Division III championship.
A balance of pass and run kept Catholic High on it’s heels. Pios quarterback Ben Broussard ran for a touchdown and threw one. Noah Bourgeois added three on the ground himself.
The Panthers led 7-0 early in the first quarter after Trey Amos took the first offensive play 80-yards. But after Notre Dame tied the game, Catholic never got the lead back.
The win is Notre Dame coach Louis Cook’s fifth as a head coach.
