Lafayette Christian 56, Ascension Catholic 7 – Division IV
New Orleans (KATC) – Zach Clement scored five touchdowns, leading Lafayette Christian to a 56-7 win in the Division IV championship over Ascension Catholic.
LCA faced the Bulldgos in the Superdome for the second straight year. Clement threw a 59-yard touchdown on the first play of the game. He’d throw two more, and rush in two on the night. Sophomore Sage Ryan scored three touchdowns, one on offense, defense and special teams.
The Knights led 14-7 at halftime before exploding for 42-unanswered points in the second half.
LCA’s championship is the second football title in school history.
