Gueydan Bears
2017 Record: 5-6
How it Happened: After a stretch of down seasons at Gueydan, first year head coach Roderick Moy got the best out of the Bears who were inches from a playoff win in a 38-30 OT loss to Montgomery.
It’s an all-in mentality for Gueydan this season. Moy brought with him a new pro-style offense last year, throwing the wing-t to the wind. He also brought a ‘one-way’ mindset for players. Moy says ‘one-way’ is already in the past, as he expects big things from his 12 seniors who will play both ways this year. Moy found success in 2017, and Gueydan will judge success on playoff wins, not just invites in 2018.
