2017 Record: 8-5
How it Happened: After a slow start, Cecilia football rattled off 8-straight wins making a run to the state quarterfinals.
No question the Bulldogs lost some very good players off of last year’s district 5 championship team. A team that reached the state quarterfinals in class 4A. But in many areas, the Bulldogs might actually be better in 2018.
Cecilia brings back three members of its 2017 defensive line — including senior defensive end Dellison Allen. Allen earned first team all-district and all-state second team honors last season.
On offense, senior wideout Lance Wlliams will take over Kaleb Carter’s role as the team’s number one receiver. Williams is described by his coaches as a swiss army knife — able to fill in wherever’s needed. A role many of his teammates will have to fill as well as the Bulldogs have just six returning starters from 2017.
