Beau Chene Gators
2017 Record: 4-6
How it Happened: Behind all-state honorable mention linebacker, Jacob Maddie, the Gators had an inconsistent 2017 campaign due in part to a season-ending injury to starting quarterback Cole Savage.
First year head coach Richard Morales comes to Beau Chene from St. James High School in St. James Parish where he was an assistant. Morales previously served as an assistant coach at Beau Chene in the early nineteen-nineties. He hopes to bring a more physical style of play to the Gators this season.
Returning starter senior Cole Savage will have to beat out junior Curtis Peters at quarterback. The two players are among just five returning starters fro Beau Chene this year.
This season will be the first time since 2015 that the Gators will play a true home game. Beau Chene’s football field was condemned following the August 2016 flood but is expected to be playable in 2018.
