(KATC) — This week’s Senior Spotlight feature’s Breaux Bridge shotput star Kynnedy Louis. Louis was the Tigers only female track athlete to represent Breaux Bridge at this year’s state meet. Not bad, especially when you consider that this is her first year competing in the sport.
An all-state academics student, and member of the Beta and 4H clubs, Louis finished third in the state in shotput in Class 4A.
Despite her newcomer status, Louis says she never let’s the pressure get to her head.
“I didn’t feel like there was a lot of pressure because I knew a lot of people were behind me,” Louis said. “And this is my first year doing it so, you need to be able to have great technique. And balance, and just be able to catch on to what you’re doing and also like mimic it. Practice, practice, practice.
