Press Release

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Football and Texas have scheduled a matchup for early in the 2021 football season, with the Ragin’ Cajuns and the Longhorns meeting at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.

“We’re very excited for the opportunity to compete with the University of Texas,” Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard said. “This is a regional matchup that will provide great exposure for our football program in the state of Texas, while also allowing Cajun Nation to attend a nonconference game against a Big 12 Conference opponent.”

The future meeting between the two programs will be the third in each school’s respective histories, with Louisiana and Texas meeting twice previously. The Ragin’ Cajuns traveled to Texas during the 2000 and 2005 seasons, meeting a Top-10 ranked Longhorns squad each time.

Louisiana Football will play at Minnesota on Sept. 30, 2023, matching the Ragin’ Cajuns up against the Gophers for the fourth-time ever. The matchup against the Big Ten Conference opponent will take place at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

“We’re certainly looking forward to a matchup against the University of Minnesota,” Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard said. “The opportunity to compete against a Big Ten Conference opponent is very exciting for our football program.”

Louisiana traveled to Minnesota during the 2001 and 2003 seasons, with a visit from the Gophers to Cajun Field in between during the 2002 season.

Louisiana Football’s 2019 season and the second campaign of the Billy Napier Era will be here soon. Fans are encouraged to renew orrequest their season tickets now.
