Breaux Bridge Tigers
2017 Record: 5-6
How it Happened: After an 0-3 start, the Tigers faced an uphill battle. 2016 breakout receiver Dartravien Girod missed most of the season as the Tigers found themselves on the losing end 56-28 loss to Benton in the opening round of the 4A playoffs.
Head coach Terry Martin made a late switch, leaving Breaux Bridge to move closer home in Loreauville in July. The school named head basketball coach Chad Pourciau the interim head coach. Pourciau will continue to call defensive plays, and retained the entire staff.
Breaux Bridge returns starting quarterback Cole Mouton and get junior receiver Dartravien Girod back. Martin said when he left that he felt Breaux Bridge was set up for a big year. Pourciau and his players echoed that sentiment. But coach stressed the need to start the season better than 0-3. He called anything but 2 wins in their first three games a bit of a disappointment considering the returning talent. The Tigers open with Teurlings, Notre Dame and Kinder.
