Napier Discloses Vermilion & White Game Plan, Wallace Speaks Honestly Thursday

Posted

Injures are shaping the plans for Louisiana football’s spring game on April 21st.

Billy Napier said after Thursday’s practice that the Vermilion and White game’s format will be a modified practice with a scoring system, but coach wasn’t real sure of the details yet. Coach told reporters he’d have a better handle on injuries and his plans next week. He did note that he does plan to have a more traditional spring game in future years.

Also speaking Thursday after practice were juniors Ashton Johnson and Deuce Wallace. Wallace is a former St. Thomas More standout and the son of former Cajuns quarterback Don Wallace. Deuce spoke openly about the challenges many walk-ons, like himself, face.

"I think the worst part about it is self doubt, feeling like you’re always looked past. But, and I think I can speak for all the walk-ons, we just keep our head down. We have the attitude that we’re unworthy and try to find some value any way possible," he said.
