LEDA will be hosting a virtual job fair for formerly incarcerated individuals and the general public will be held on Tuesday, July 14.
Virtual booth space for employers is available. There is no cost for businesses to participate in the event but booth space is limited.
Companies can register at https://reentryjobfair2020-employer.eventbrite.com. The Virtual Re-Entry Job Fair will run 9 a.m. to noon online via Brazen.
The event for Formerly Incarcerated Persons (FIP) but also open to the public. Last year’s Re-Entry Job Fair held in Lafayette featured 18 employers and 9 resource providers and attracted over 150 job seekers. Businesses are still being asked to register to participate in the event.
LEDA says it is FREE for businesses to reserve a virtual booth which will allow employers to connect with job seekers via a chat based software called Brazen.
The job fair is presented by Acadiana Workforce Solutions, Beacon Community Connections, Fellowship Full Gospel Ministries, Lafayette Economic Development Authority, Lafayette District Probation and Parole, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana Workforce Commission, and the nonprofit organization VOTE – Voice of the Experienced.
