A restaurant owner originally from Alexandria is finding renewed success in Jennings.
"We found this little spot, this location. Nice quaint little area, business district," commented Monica Peart.
Verona Italian Restaurant has only been open for two and a half weeks, and so far, business has been brisk.
"Right now, I think it's good," added Peart. "We made this step to do it and there has been a packed house all day today."
On Tuesday, around 30 people packed the downtown restaurant to get a taste of what it offers.
"We have a tuna wasabi that's amazing. Our lobster ravioli, our steaks with the cheese," Peart listed. "We have 16 oz. ribeyes."
Peart says her business is following COVID-19 protocols to keep her customers and her staff safe.
"As far as COVID, we are taking every safety measure we can take, all the precautions. We're doing all we can."
This way, her customers can keep coming back for more.
"We're just glad to have them," she added. "In Alexandria, our customers are our family. We've been there for 11 years, so we want to establish the same relationship with everyone here."
Verona is located at 203 E Nezpique St. in Jennings.
