School meals are a key source of nutrition for thousands of students in Louisiana.
With summer approaching, Pepsi Co., USDA, and The Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty are helping children rebound by delivering meals directly to students in the state.
This ongoing effort is called Meals to You, and has already provided over 400,000 meals across Louisiana.
Some of those meals have also made their way to Acadiana.
Doug Hargis, Senior Manager of Foods for Good, said, "We are beneficiaries of a free or reduced lunch program, so we have a vested interest in helping to find a solution. We feel very privileged that we are able to do this work and give back to those communities that we once and still are, in many ways, a part of."
