The Acadia Parish School Board has pushed back the school start date to September.

In a meeting on Thursday, the board voted to delay the start of school until September 8, 2020. The vote was unanimous.

This delay is similar to other schools systems that are choosing to do the same. Over the past several weeks. Lafayette, St. Landry, Iberia, St. Mary have all chosen to change their start days to after the Labor Day holiday.

Evangeline Parish voted Wednesday to begin school on August 24.
