Volunteers came out today to help families struggling during the pandemic.

Today, volunteers were in Rayne and Duson to hand out boxes of food and loaves of bread to the community. They worked yesterday at the Martin Luther King Center in Lafayette.

"We decided, my daughter and I, that we'd go out and help as many people as we possibly could in the community. So we went around and got donations from the businesses in town. Langlinais and Evangeline Maid Bread were extremely generous. Some of the doctors and attorneys in town gave," said organizer Patricia Colbert Cormier.
