BROUSSARD, La. — A Broussard business is offering plate lunches to people in need every Saturday through June 6.

Bilfinger Salamis, a support services contractor, will serve the meals from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at it's facility, 510 La Flamme Road in Broussard, begining this Saturday. The meals will be available to anyone in the community who needs a hot meal. They'll be distributed until they run out.

“… I’m extremely humbled by the countless sacrifices that medical workers, first responders, essential infrastructure workers and their families, in fact anyone who goes to work every day, putting themselves at risk to help others. This has driven me to look for ways to help in any small way that we can and consequently, I have asked my team to organize a cooking event at our facility in Broussard, to provide over 300 free plate lunches to those who are in need of a helping hand. We have some great cooks in our company, we have the equipment, we have the volunteers and we have the desire to help, so we want to turn that it into something useful and supportive in our community," said Phil Finley, President and CEO of Bilfinger Salamis.
