We’re all familiar with the typical Halloween decor — pumpkins, ghosts and cobwebs. But there’s another way to display your ghoulish items and we can’t believe we didn’t think of this sooner. Are you ready for this genius idea?
People are decorating their Christmas trees for Halloween, and it’s pretty much the best combination we’ve ever seen!
If you’re the kind of person who starts blasting the Christmas music as soon as Oct. 1 rolls around, you’ll likely love the idea of getting that tree up even earlier than usual. Instead of decking the halls with boughs of holly, you can instead make sure your tree is terrifying to celebrate Halloween.
To see what we mean, check out Twitter user @OklaHooper’s Halloween Christmas tree, complete with twinkling lights, orange tinsel and a witch’s hat to top it all off.

And @darkvictorian’s tree was fully loaded with ornaments for a delightfully eerie vibe.

Of course, this does mean decorating the tree twice — once for Halloween and once for Christmas — but hey, who ever complained about such a task? It’s the best time of the year, and this is the best way to celebrate, as far as we’re concerned.
Choosing a white tree and pairing it with black ornaments, as Twitter user @sachairiah did, can add just the right spooky touch your home needs this season.

If you’re seeking inspiration for taking your Christmas tree to a never-before-seen scary level, you can look to Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube to get all of the ideas you could ever need. There are ornament tutorials and more to teach you everything you need to know before Oct. 31.
As you can see in the video below, choosing jack-o’-lantern lights, some black and white ribbon and bare, black branches will take your tree from festive to frightening in no time:
The Wholesale Party supplies website, meanwhile, will take you through a step-by-step tutorial to show you how to create “The Nightmare Before Christmas”-inspired ornaments.
This way, you can create a tree that is truly part-Halloween, part-Christmas, just like these epic trees that Twitter user @TheBezzNeez put together:

Halloween will be here before we know it, so break out the Christmas tree and start decorating. It’s the perfect excuse to leave your Christmas tree up even longer this year!
