ABBEVILLE, La. — The Abbeville Police Department held their annual Police Officer's Memorial Service on Friday, Dec. 18.
The annual service began at 10:30 am and honored all officers in Vermilion Parish who have died in the line of duty.
The Abbeville Police Department honored one of their own, John "Dooley" Hardy, who was killed on December 23, 1992.
This year's keynote speaker was Louisiana 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals judge Jonathan Perry.
The general public, family members of fallen officers and other law enforcement agencies were invited to attend.
