Two American oil executives, members of the "Citgo 6," held in a Venezuelan prison for nearly three years have been placed in house arrest, according to CNN.
Gustavo Cárdenas and Jorge Toledo were released to house arrest on Tuesday evening. Former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said that move is "a positive and important first step," but called for the release of all six executives. They hope that the release is the first step to a release from Venezuela.
Tomeu Vadell, a Lake Charles native, and the remainder of the "Citgo 6" have been detained in Venezuela since November 2017.
