While hair and nail salons got to reopen during phase one, tattoo shops were not included. Knowing that means another month out of work, one Acadiana tattoo artist is finding a way to use his talents to create a uniquely designed shoe that is catching a lot of attention on social media.

"It went from a reasonable pay to making nothing at all and not knowing where to go to take care of my family," said Todd Cage.

Todd decided to use what he knows best to bring in some extra income, and the result has kept him busy.

"The last few weeks, I've probably done about 75-80 pairs," said Cage.

The famous shoes have sunflowers surrounding the straps that will catch your attention, something that started off as a simple favor.

"Someone asked me if I could do it, and I told them to send me a pair, and I'll do them. That turned into chaos, and everybody wanted to know where they came from," said Cage.

The Louisiana native says the community he loves always steps up during hard times.

"I love Lafayette. They always support me, whether it's tattoo's or taking pictures with my merchandise or the shirts I offer or paintings," said Cage.

Make no mistake Todd isn't the only tattoo artist getting creative.

"We can take our natural talents and paint slides or paint shoes or paint houses to do whatever we need to until our next move. But, we're all lucky to be artists," said Cage.

If anyone wants to purchase a pair, they can send a direct message on Cage's Facebook page here.
