Summer meals to go begins for St. Martin Parish children

On Friday, the summer meals to go program in St. Martin Parish began for children 18 and under.

The sites opened May 29 at local schools for those needing assistance. Meals will include 5 breakfast and 5 lunch meals to be distributed once per week for 9 weeks.

All children age 18 years and under are eligible to receive meals.

"We're very proud of the work that has gone into getting this program up and going, and we're excited to have these parents here lined up to make sure our babies get fed over the summer," Lucretia Hertzock Supervisor of School Nutrition said.

Meal pick-up will continues each week on the following dates:

Week 2: Thursday, June 4

Week 3: Thursday, June 11

Week 4: Thursday, June 18

Week 5: Thursday, June 25

Week 6: Thursday, July 2

Week 7: Thursday, July 9

Week 8: Thursday, July 16

Week 9: Thursday, July 23

Pick up times each week will be from 10:30 am until 1:00 pm at the following locations: Breaux Bridge Primary, Catahoula Elementary, Cecilia Jr. High, Parks Old City Hall Drive Thru, St. Martinville Sr. High School.
