Deputies in St. Mary Parish are looking for a suspect who they say is responsible for vandalizing multiple graves in Amelia this week.
According to the sheriff's office, a suspect entered the Amelia Cemetery (St. Andrews Catholic Church Cemetery) in the early morning hours of Monday, September 14, and vandalized/desecrated graves.
Photos below show ths suepct and the vehicle used in the incident.
SMPSO said it was "unsettling" that a crime of this nature would be committed in a sacred place.
