In a Facebook post, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office is urging drug dealers to report their competition to the department.
"Tired of that pesky drug dealer coming into your geographical turf and selling to all your clients?" the post reads. "We can help you "up" your game and dominate your competition!"
Deputies say the task is as simple as picking up the phone and reporting the "intruding dealers."
Free of charge, the sheriff's department adds that they'll disrupt the "fake businesses" while callers remain completely anonymous.
As a disclaimer the department warns dealers that they may want to report early before their new competition gets the upper hand and reports them.
The post also encourages the public to get involved.
Those with credible information on possible drug dealings can call the department to make an anonymous report.
"We take this job seriously. We want to take steps to make St. Mary Parish a better and safer place to live," says Sheriff Blaise Smith. "You can do your part by simply calling the number and giving information. You can remain anonymous and be a part of taking drugs off the street."
An electronic billboard has even been set up to encourage drug dealers to make a report.
