CENTERVILLE, La. — The St. Mary Parish School Board approved an extension of COVID sick leave days for employees through June during its regular board meeting on Thursday.
According to Superintendent Teresa Bagwell, the board adopted a policy revision that extends the medical leave as enacted by Congress until June 30.
Those days were granted under the CARES Act, but they expired when the law ended on Dec. 31, 2020.
The discussion comes the day after the Lafayette Parish School Board approved an extension of COVID leave days for its employees.
