The St. Mary Parish Fire Association is paying it forward to first responders in Lake Charles.
They're accepting donations from the community to help those on the front lines after Laura.
They say it's their way of giving back - noting how they were in a similar situation a year ago.
"Back when Hurricane Barry passed through here, Calcasieu Parish sent a lot of support to help us so we're kind of paying forward now," said Franklin Fire Chief Chuck Bourgeois. "The items we are collecting at this point are water, Gatorade, any type of cleaning supplies, hygiene supplies. So if you can find it in your heart to just to pay it forward to these people, please do so."
Donations can be dropped off at:
Chitimacha Fire Department in Charenton
Baldwin Fire Department in Baldwin
Bayou Vista Fire Department
Vida Paint and Supply in Morgan City
FRanklin Fire Department in Franklin
