Breaux Bridge Police say that one person has been injured and another detained in a shooting at the Walmart on Rees Street.
Officials tell KATC that the shooting happened around 8:00 pm in the store's parking lot. It is unclear as to what led up to the shooting.
One person, believed to be a woman, was injured in the shooting and has been taken to the hospital. The condition of that person wasn't immediately known but we are told the victim required emergency surgery.
Another person, also said to be a woman, was detained in the shooting. The scene at the Walmart is now clear.
An investigation is still underway.
