No injuries in Breaux Bridge fire

BREAUX BRIDGE, La. - No one was injured in a Monday fire in Breaux Bridge.

Around 11:30 am, units from Breaux Bridge, Cecilia, and Henderson were dispatched to a residential fire in the 100 block of Malcomb Street.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire, according to Brody Miller, Fire Coordinator, St. Martin Parish Fire District.

A home next door did sustain damage from radiant heat.

It took firefighters more than two hours to bring the fire under control, Miller added. The departments that responded were: Breaux Bridge VFD, Cecilia VFD , Henderson VFD , Arnaudville VFD , Parks VFD, Catahoula VFD, and St. Martin Parish Fire District Day-Time Staff.

Red Cross was called in to assist the home owner.
