ST. MARTIN PARISH — Mayor Kevin Kately of the Village of Parks is urging residents to conserve water.

This plea is comes as water systems around the state are struggling to keep up with the demand. Boil advisories and calls for water conservation have been made in all areas of Acadiana.

Kately says that currently Parks water customers should conserve water usage and stop running water from the faucets. This will allow the tanks to fill up for our distribution supply.

"If we cannot get cooperation from customers, it may lead to further actions in the future. If we can work together as a team, we can surpass this," he said

Many systems in Acadiana have announced boil water advisories because of similar situations. See a list of boil advisories here.
