Cecilia High School students donated over 500 pairs of flip flops to victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.
The school sponsored the drive with Sock'n It!, a Louisiana based organization whose mission is "To Protect the feet of displaced, transient, and un-sheltered men, women, children, youth and veterans experiencing homelessness with new socks, flips-flops and much needed footcare items."
Those flip-flops were collected in September and on October 17th, were packed up for delivery to the Bahamas. Cecilia High School Principal Nicole Usie and Coach Scotty thanked the students for their support.
Dorian made landfall on September 1, on the Abaco Islands with maximum sustained winds of 185 mph.
