A Breaux Bridge woman has been arrested in connection with a December 2019 fatal crash in St. Martin Parish.

Louisiana State Police say they arrested 26-year-old Caitlyn Hebert of Breaux Bridge in connection with that crash on December 15, 2019. Troopers say that toxicology results revealed that Hebert was impaired at the time of the crash.

Hebert has been booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail on the following:

  • 1 count Vehicles turning left at intersection
  • 1 count Driver must be licensed
  • 2 counts Vehicular negligent injuring
  • 2 counts Vehicular homicide

The crash claimed the life of two people, Hebert's passengers, 21-year-old Gannon Sam and 26-year-old Chayce Gobert of Breaux Bridge.

Troopers say that Hebert's vehicle was struck by a northbound 2018 Ram pickup. It was determined by investigators that Hebert crossed the center line, into the path of the Ram pickup, as she attempted to turn left onto Clayton Castille Road.

The driver of the truck only received minor injuries.
