The Opelousas Police Department have made several arrest in connection with two shootings that occurred on Saturday morning
On July 18, police were called out in regards to the shooting in the 800 block. of S. Oak Street that left a 10-year-old hospitalized and the related shooting in the 100 block. of W Lincoln St. that injured one person. Three people have been arrest in connection with those shootings.
23-year-old Leon Raymond Senegal of Opelousas was arrested and booked on assault by drive-by shooting, attempted first degree murder, and two counts of attempted second degree murder. 20-year-old Deondrea Arthurlee of Opelousas was arrested and booked on Attempted first degree murder, two counts of attempted second degree murder, assault by drive-by shooting, illegal carrying of weapons.
A 15- year-old was also booked on Assault by Drive by shooting and Attempted first degree murder.
The investigations into these shootings and others are active and ongoing.
