All St. Landry Parish public schools and facilities will remain closed Friday, February 19.
The school systems says they are dealing a number of problems including water pressure, pipe leaks, and issues involving heating across the parish.
District officials say they will not be able to fully identify and repair pipe leaks until water pressure returns across the district. Additionally, the lack of water pressure prevents boilers from functioning effectively which contributes to heating issues at some schools.
Schools are expected to re-open on Monday, February 22, 2021.
