Port Barre police have made several arrests in connection with a string of home and car burglaries extending from November through December of 2020.
Around two dozen vehicles and several homes were broken into in which several firearms were stolen, according to Chief Deon R. Boudreaux. Police were able to locate most of the firearms in an abandoned building near one of the burglarized homes.
Throughout November, December and January, police investigated these cases, going through home surveillance videos, searching social media profiles, interviewing suspects, acting on every tip, and caught a break when interviewing a suspect after a crime stoppers tip, stated Boudreaux.
Police were able to identify and connect suspects to many of the burglaries.
Several arrests have been made, but more arrests are coming, added Chief Boudreaux.
