An Opelousas man was arrested Sunday night, accused of robbing a woman of $700 in cash at gunpoint.
Police say the incident happened around 5:30 pm on April 5 in 1600 block of Pujo Street.
According to police, Frederick Bias Jr. was arrested after an investigation into the armed robbery.
With a description and possible location of the suspect, police say they made contact with Bias at a residence on Colorado Street. The victim allegedly described the suspect as having a tattoo in the center of his forehead which matched Bias.
He was detained and later positively identified by the victim, according to police.
Police say a search of Bias and the residence allegedly uncovered a firearm, the victim's $700, marijuana, evidence of illegal narcotics and other indications of illegal weapons. Bias is also a convicted felon.
He was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the following charges:
- Armed robbery
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Possession of schedule i drugs
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
