ST LANDRY PARISH — Opelousas General has announced the birth of their first baby of 2021.
The hospital extended their congratulations to Nakia Pitre and Dontae Sonnier. They are the parents of Ro’Yale Blehu Sonnier who was born at 7:06 a.m. on January 1, 2021, weighing in at 5lbs., 2oz.
Opelousas Genral says that upon his arrival at home in Opelousas, he will be welcomed by three brothers and three sisters.
Dr. Andre’ Pinac is Nakia’s OB/GYN and Ro’Yale’s pediatrician is Dr. Carmen Johnson, the hospital says.
Our Lady of Lourdes Women's and Children's hospital in Lafayette also welcomed their New Year's baby at 9:53 a.m., just a few hours following Ro'Yale's birth. Read more here
