The boil advisory for the City of Opelousas has been lifted. The Department of Health & Hospitals has tested water samples and all analysis of the city water has passed and cleared, officials say.
"We will continue to monitor our water levels and pressure while providing the citizens of Opelousas safe drinking water. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unforeseen winter weather event that impacted our water system and our lives," said Mayor Julius Alsandor. "Thanks also to the public works department who worked diligently to help resolve the issues. We will continue to serve the citizens and businesses of Opelousas to the best of our abilities. Stay safe. #OpelousasStrong."
