Opelousas Mayor Julius Alsandor is asking residents to continue conserving water and reduce water usage.
The city has seen a slight increase in its water reserve, but Alsandor said Opelousas is "far from out of the woods."
Officials are asking residents not to drip or run their faucets as the city is still experiencing low pressures throughout the city. There have also been a high volume of calls about leaks, which is also having a direct impact on water pressure, Alsandor said.
A boil advisory remains in effect in Opelousas.
Alsandor thanked Opelousas residents for listening and for responding in the positive manner in which they have to the water situation.
