Just a short drive into St. Landry parish, as the flat land starts to roll with hills, you'll reach Washington.

The third oldest settlement in Louisiana, a former trading post on Bayou Courtableau, and the home to the Old Schoolhouse Antique Mall.

Open on weekends, the Old Schoolhouse Antique Mall is the only antique shopping in a Louisiana building listed on the national registry of historical places. Dating back to 1938, the schoolhouse still has the old hardwood floors throughout the building.

Each classroom holds a vendors treasures. From antique furniture to vintage clothing, you'll need several hours to dig through it all! Don't forget to visit the classrooms upstairs too. You never know what you'll find.

Additional space located in the gymnasium holds more finds. The gym is actually from the 1950s, but still has that old feel.

In total There are 40,000 square feet of shopping and collectibles. Make sure to visit the classrooms on stage and back stage, too!

When your done or you just need a break, grab lunch at the Old Schoolhouse Cafe! Burgers, sandwiches and salads. Just don't leave without trying one of their old-fashioned desserts.
