We are in a transition period in the forecast from the hot, dry weather we've had the last few days to a more unsettled forecast for most of next week (still stays hot though).
Tropical moisture will start moving into the area on Friday and will result in a scattering of showers across much of the area later in the afternoon and evening.
This will announce the arrival of tropical moisture which is going to be entrenched in the forecast for the next several days, meaning on and off again showers through the rest of the weekend.
Temperatures are going to be up in the 90s with a heat index that gets a little closer to the triple digit mark during the hottest parts of the day.
While it's certainly a wet forecast the showers will be on and off again with a chance in between showers for the ground to absorb the rain and for areas to drain.
Rain totals over the next several days will be in the range of about 0.5-1" with a few areas seeing slightly higher numbers, this could lead to a little pooling but widespread flooding is not expected.
