With travel restrictions lifted and summer finally here, many are looking forward to getting out of town.
But depending on the destination, there could still be one big obstacle in the way.
"Right now the US Passport office is only accepting emergency travel requests so vacations, travel, even business travel, unless it's an emergency, won't get applied," says Robbie Bush with Associated Travel.
For Robbie and his clients, this hold on new passport business is a big problem.
"We had several honeymoon couples scheduled to go in the middle of the summer to Mexico and they were concerned which they should be whether or not they could get their passport in time, " says Bush.
For anyone who submitted a passport request after late February, hopefully you haven't been holding your breath.
Right now Bush says the safe bet is to plan only for travel within the United States until you physically have a passport.
"In the US you can still do Hawaii if you want to and you can still do a lot of the beach areas, but you need to check with each destination and each property because each state has different situations going on," says Bush.
