Louisiana now has 36 presumptive positive cases of COVID-19

There are now 36 presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 in the State of Louisiana.

Today, the Department of Health shared guidance with providers that recommends COVID-19 testing for any patient with fever, respiratory symptoms and a negative influenza test.

Caddo - 1 case

Jefferson - 3 cases

Lafourche - 1 case

Orleans - 26 cases

St. Bernard - 1 case

St. Charles - 1 case

St. Tammany - 2 cases

Terrebonne - 1 case

All patients suspected (and undergoing testing) for COVID-19 should isolate at home until they receive their test results. If test results are positive, patients should be isolated at home until cleared by a physician or public health official.

As of 4:30 pm on Friday March 13, 108 tests for the novel virus have been completed in the state.
