NEW IBERIA, La. - The Bayou Mardi Gras Association announced its parade will roll on January 25 in New Iberia.
This year's Grand Marshal, Mayor Freddie DeCourt, will kick off the parade at 6 PM on Saturday.
The Bayou Mardi Gras Association has focused on improving the parade and offering something different and unique for every parade, according to parade organizers. Past parades have included out of town marching bands, the New Orleans based Fat City Drum Corp, SuperOne Foods Giant Shopping Cart, and much more.
This year, the parade will be lead by local veterans and all floats will receive an allotment of special Bayou Mardi Gras Commemorative Beads to throw to the crowd.
Musson Patout Automotive Group, and Arceneaux Ford will be returning as the 2020 sponsor. They will provide the official trucks and drivers for all of the parade floats.
"The parade continues to ignite excitement here in Iberia Parish, but now we are seeing it becoming of interest in the rest of Acadiana" said Mike Wattigny, Parade Co-Founder and Board Member. "Seeing the excitement and how much fun people had the last four years, we can't wait for it to hit the streets again. We believe the parade is a tradition that helps define this community promotes our area and brings great joy to our neighbors."
