A Morgan City man has been arrested on a charge of first-degree rape following a weekend investigation.
Police say they responded to a call of a person receiving bodily injuries from a battery on Sunday, September 1.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the injuries were sustained by the victim during an alleged sexual assault.
An investigation into the incident developed 57-year-old Carla James Johnson as a suspect.
A warrant was obtained and Johnson was arrested.
He was booked and incarcerated at the Morgan City Jail on a charge of First-Degree Rape.
