St. Martinville City Hall is usually busy, with people paying bills and conducting other business. But today, only the drive-thru remains open.
The City Hall has always had a drive through for people to pay utility bills, but now anything residents need to do can be done from the convience from their car.
Mayor Melinda Mitchell says people can still file for occupational licenses and permits. The only difference is the hours - City Hall will be open Monday-Wednesday and Fridays from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Across the street, the police station lobby is closed to the public. Mitchell says it's about keeping businesses flowing in the city while making sure city workers and residents are safe.
"We want to follow the state order, the governor's order," said Mitchell. "We want to be safe because we have to go home to our families."
People unable to go to City Hall during business hours are able to use a kiosk or drop box outside.
