Town of Washington Budget
The Town of Washington failed to vote on a budget at tonight's council meeting.
Now, the town may be facing a state takeover.
Councilmembers tell KATC they will have to inform the state tomorrow.
The town has a $600,000 budget shortfall and has been operating in a deficit for the past six years.
In August, the council met to discuss the budget, and the manager of the town's finances had been hopeful one could be agreed upon.
