Opelousas Police have confirmed with KATC that there are trees down "all over" the city tonight as a severe weather system moves through the area.

Police say a woman was trapped inside of her home on Vidrine Street due to a fallen tree. A tree also fell on a vehicle while a woman was driving down Main Street, but the driver was able to safely exit the vehicle.

KATC's Katie Easter was live in St. Landry Parish, where she was told by a neighbor that the woman inside the home was able to safely exit. The tree went across the home, causing extensive damage.

We are receiving reports of downed trees and power lines in various places across Acadiana. Below are viewer submitted photos from tonight's severe weather event.
