Opelousas General Health System has released a Public Service Announcement regarding COVID-19, imploring residents to take the virus seriously.
"This is real. People are dying daily," says Opelousas Mayor Julius Alsandor. He is joined by members of the Opelousas General Health System, along with District 40 Representative Dustin Miller. Miller tells residents to, "Stay home. No parties, no gatherings."
The PSA is just one way officials are asking people all over the state not to gather this weekend for Easter celebrations or gatherings. OGHS officials are hoping residents will take the virus seriously.
