The PTC of Woodvale Elementary hosted a Family Fun Day Sunday.
The event, held Sunday afternoon at Girard Park, was for the entire school family. It was a chance for students and parents to renew friendships, and make new ones.
"We're doing a back to school Family Fun Day," explained PTC President Naomi Quebedeaux. "We just want to promote family time, community involvement and showcase how great our Lafayette Parish public schools are."
Students were able to enjoy the playgrounds and splash pad at the park. But it was more than just playtime, Quebedeaux said.
"I think when you get the parents and the community involved in learning and education, children thrive, and they really just do much better than without it," she said.
