LAFAYETTE — The Essence Festival Pipeline will visit Southwest Louisiana today to find black-owned businesses that are interested in providing services for the upcoming Essence Festival in New Orleans.

Two sessions were held Tuesday, one in Lake Charles and the other at Brown Park in Lafayette.

"This is a statewide effort," said Urban League of Louisiana President and CEO Judy Reese Morse. "We are excited to be able to bring these opportunities to small businesses in Lafayette to give them the opportunity to provide goods and services to the Essence Festival of Culture."
